Rare household creature of Miyoshi, multiplying under the floorboards to bless growing families.
According to a legend from the Miyoshi region of Hiroshima Prefecture, the Gedou is a mottled yokai larger than a mole but smaller than a weasel. Any household beneath whose floor it takes up residence is said to prosper. Each time a girl is born into the family, the number of Gedou increases by seventy-five.
